How to Render Lard from Pork Fat

Method
 

  1. Freeze the pork fat
  2. Chop the fat into 1-2 inch cubes
  3. Add water to the slow cooker
  4. Cook the lard, low and slow
  5. Stir every 30 minutes, check periodically
  6. Once melted, strain through a cheesecloth
  7. Cool the lard before using it
